Kauai, the 4th largest Hawaiian island, has is own distinct personality which sets it apart from the others. Its gloriously dramatic jagged cliffs and lush tropical rain forests are reminiscent of the Hawaii of days gone by and justifies its reputation as “the garden isle.” With stunning white sand beaches and unusual reef formations this island is truly a tropical paradise with gorgeous hiking trails leading to hidden cascading falls and swimming holes. In our dialed-in society of well-versed travelers, it is such a delight to discover a new hotel that caters to those who desire privacy, especially in our beloved Hawaiian islands, to escape from it all, so to speak.
The world is an immense playing field with unending places to go, people to meet, and things to do…and what I have found is that the more I travel and experience, see, do, attempt and explore oddly enough makes me recognize how much more there is to appreciate. In my quest to fill life with as many adventures as possible there come certain opportunities and events. My latest escapade was the Sonoma Jazz Festival in the wine country of Northern California. I am not always a fan of big crowded events so I was unsure of what to expect—WOW, was I surprised.
