For most New Yorkers, the Hamptons is forever associated with summer, beaches, and crowds. However, as I discovered this past weekend, there is no reason not to consider the Hamptons a year-round destination. With the snow from December’s blizzard still on the ground, and trees sparkling under their white covering, a winter wonderland awaited and proved to be a perfect weekend escape from the madness of the city.
Just in time for New York Fashion Week, New York's Social Diva, Peg Samuel, took time out of her hectic schedule for an interview with Jetset Extra to clue us in on her fabulous NYC faves. The best-selling author and founder of
Eat, Pray, Love, Elizabeth Gilbert's memoir of a year of soul-searching by way of world travel, struck an immediate and passionate chord with women the world over. In Gilbert's own words in Eat, Pray, Love: "I wanted to explore one aspect of myself set against the backdrop of each country, in a place that has traditionally done that one thing very well. I wanted to explore the art of pleasure in Italy, the art of devotion in India and, in Indonesia, the art of balancing the two."
Kermit was right: It’s not easy being green. Especially when you’re sky-high, sipping bubbly on a private jet. While more and more of us reject plastic bags, embrace bike-sharing programs and shop at the local green market, it doesn’t seem too much to expect our travel choices to be more environmentally aware.
